Shunned At A Funeral — Questions

I went walking with questions like
Stones inside my chest.
I asked the road where it was leading
It only answered west
I asked the mountain why it stands
Through centuries and singing] of scar and snow.
It said
I bear the weight
I'm giving and bow to winds
I do not know.
I asked the sea in restless night
Why it devours why it sings.
It said
I move at someone's whisper
Pulled by unseen and tidal things.
I asked the bird upon the wire
Why it dares the open air
